Many individuals are referred to the Centre and supported by Adult Social Services.
Social prescribers, doctor surgeries, Stuart Road Memory Clinic, social orkers and others in the care system regularly recommend attendance at the Autumn Centre.
NNC is the Centre's landlord, supporting the facility where we operate on the Exeter Estate. We currently receive a small annual grant from NNC (about 3% of our annual budget). NNC also oversee the Centre's safeguarding, and an annual quality and monitoring report.
North Northants Public Health have identified the Autumn Centre as a developing centre of excellence in the community for the care of people living with early onset dementia. The Centre is linked with The Orchard Project, an evidence based research programme with the University of Northampton. Research is based round deliveing cognitive activities to slow down the progression of dementia, keeping the brain healthier for longer.
The Autumn Centre is part of a network of key agencies in North Northants who are developing the county's response to the care of people living with dementia.
We are grateful to Aspire NN who encourage collaboration and bring expertise and resources to support the growth and success of Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) in our local area.
