From your first visit to the Autumn Centre as a partner, family member or carer, we recognise the key role you play for your loved one and how important it is that we work together to support them.
We also recognise that your role as a carer can be demanding, even overwhelming at times. As well as the hours of respite you may enjoy when your loved one is at The Autumn Centre - a little time for yourself, we also want to bring you more focussed support:
Short courses that focus on your transition intoto a caring role - things you may want and need to know, such as
resources are available to support carers
issues that people moving into caring full time struggle
A safe place to chat and find you are not on your own
We are proud to be working with the Public Health's Orchard Project's research initiative to support carers
6 weekly 2 hour sessions to introduce some key themes for your new role.
This course has been designed with input from University of Northampton Research, NHS Dementia Specialists, Admiral Nurses and years of experience working with our members' carers at the Autumn Centre
